Norms
Norms in the work place are very interesting. They “designate the boundaries of acceptable behavior in the group.” I think this is funny because these kinds of “norms” seem to always be changing in the work place. It seems that every time there is a new employee added to the company things are changing. Any kind of change in the economic environment of the country can also change the “norms” of the company. Yet these norms are still always expected even when things change.

I believe "norms" are like silent rules. Yes they change constantly... between whether it is acceptable to wear flip flops on friday as oppose to "fancy" sandals while the dress code for the friday says no "street" shoes. They change, but subtle changes that don't case too much trouble for the company. Norms can be appreciated under certain circumstances as they make the rules better suited to the employees desires. Norms kind of push the limits but without announcing to the world that they are doing so. That's just my impression in regards to norms.
